Location: Colwick, Nottingham

Salary: £30,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30am – 5:00pm (1-hour lunch)

Friday 8:30am – 4:00pm

Start Date: Immediate | Office Based

Benefits: 23 days holiday (rising by 1 day each year up to 25), Company pension, Early finish on Fridays

We are representing a thriving business based in Colwick, Nottingham, who are seeking a proactive and commercially-minded Credit Controller to join their close-knit finance team. This is a hands-on role where you\’ll take ownership of the credit control function and play a key role in managing cash flow and debt recovery.

As the Credit Controller, your responsibilities will include:

Assessing credit risk and evaluating the creditworthiness of new and existing customers

Setting and managing credit limits and ensuring compliance with agreed terms

Monitoring and forecasting accounts to identify when customers are nearing their credit limit and chasing interim payments as required

Chasing overdue invoices, negotiating repayment plans, and managing the debt recovery process

Producing aged debt reports and cash flow forecasts

Liaising with customers to resolve queries and maintain strong working relationships

Collaborating with internal teams including sales and accounts to ensure smooth processes

Day-to-day tasks include:

Processing invoices and reconciling customer accounts

Tracking and managing late payments

Setting up and maintaining structured repayment plans

Initiating legal proceedings for long-outstanding debts when necessary

Ensuring compliance with internal credit policies

Supporting the finance team with general administration and reporting

Analysing past payment trends and making recommendations for improvement

Achieving set targets for debt recovery
