Accounts Assistant

Location: Nottingham, NG7

Salary: £26,000 – £30,000

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm

Purpose of the role

The purpose of an Accounts Assistant is to provide vital support to the finance and accounting team by ensuring accurate, timely and efficient processing of financial transactions.

This role helps maintain financial records, assists in the preparation of reports, monitors invoices and payments and supports compliance with accounting policies and regulations.

Supporting with day to day financial tasks and offering administrative support, the Accounts Assistant contributes to the smooth operation of the finance function.

Key duties

  • Process and record day to day financial transactions accurately
  • Assist in preparing invoices, purchase orders and credit notes
  • Maintain and reconcile customer and supplier accounts
  • Support month end and year end financial closing processes
  • Prepare and process payments, receipts and bank reconciliations
  • Monitor outstanding debts and assist with credit control activities
  • Help prepare financial reports, budgets and forecasts
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant financial regulations
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team, including filing and data entry
