About the Role

The Head of IT & Digital will be responsible for ensuring that all care homes, support functions and corporate systems have secure, reliable, resilient and cost-effective technology that enables high-quality care, regulatory compliance and business growth. They will lead on the development and delivery of the group's digital strategy and roadmap, lead cyber security and data protection initiatives, oversee infrastructure and business-critical applications, and ensure excellent IT service delivery across a geographically dispersed estate. The Head of IT & Digital role will be a member of the Senior Management Team.

Main duties of the role:

  • Develop and deliver the group’s IT & digital strategy.
  • Proactively manage relationships with third-party suppliers, in particular our MSP partner.
  • Ensure reliable IT infrastructure, networks, cloud services, devices and business systems across all care homes and central offices.
  • Lead cyber security, IT risk management, business continuity and disaster recovery.
  • Oversee core systems including care management, eMAR, rostering, HR, finance and reporting platforms.
  • Lead IT and digital transformation projects from planning through to implementation.
  • Evaluate and propose how emerging technologies can support and enable the business, including innovation in the delivery of excellent care including through AI.
  • Manage the IT budget, contracts, procurement and supplier performance.
  • Establish clear IT governance, policies, service standards and performance reporting.
  • Act as the senior technology adviser to the Executive Team and Board.

These are the main duties that are required to fulfil this role. However, it will sometimes be necessary for the post holder to perform other duties as required to ensure provision of our services to our residents.

You will keep information obtained in the course of your employment confidential, especially with regards to our residents. You will ensure that your practice, and that of others, meets the requirements of the Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (SOVA) regulations, including reporting any concerns to the person in charge, and completing training as required. You will be responsible for your own health and safety and that of your colleagues, completing training and following all our relevant policies and procedures as required.
