ELIXIR is a pan-European distributed research infrastructure for life science data, built on people, trust, and collaboration. The ELIXIR Director leads the organization, shaping the future of life science data infrastructure across Europe.
Responsibilities
- Report to the ELIXIR Board and provide strategic and operational leadership for the organization.
- Lead the ELIXIR Hub and ensure the delivery of ELIXIR’s mission, strategy, and objectives in partnership with governance bodies, Nodes, and the broader stakeholder community.
- Build trust, foster collaboration, and drive alignment across federated and distributed governance partners.
- Articulate a clear and compelling vision, inspire staff, Member States, national Nodes, researchers, service providers, funders, industry partners, and users across Europe.
Qualifications
- Senior experience in life sciences, with a background in bioinformatics and practical applications of bioscience data.
- Strong awareness of the needs of bioscience data users in academia and industry.
- Ability to set a long‑term vision and communicate the excitement and impact of a complex scientific project to a broad audience.
- Experience operating at a multinational level, engaging with international institutions and funding agencies.
- Understanding of the sensitivities involved in working across countries and disciplines.
