Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking for a varied role within a specialist manufacturing environment? Our client is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team, supporting the reliable operation and continuous improvement of specialist production machinery and plant equipment.

You'll be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding across mechanical, electrical and control systems, supporting equipment improvements and working closely with production to minimise downtime and maintain efficient manufacturing operations.

The Role

  • Carrying out routine inspections and preventative maintenance across production machinery and plant equipment
  • Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and control system faults
  • Using root cause analysis techniques to identify and resolve recurring equipment issues
  • Developing and implementing modifications to improve equipment efficiency and reliability
  • Carrying out repairs and replacement of mechanical components
  • Working to appropriate engineering drawings and GD&T standards where required
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing facility
  • Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime during maintenance activities
  • Supporting improvements to machinery performance, reliability and availability
  • Maintaining high standards of engineering, safety and housekeeping

The Candidate

  • 3+ years' mechanical engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years' electrical engineering experience
  • Proven maintenance engineering experience within a production environment
  • Experience working with industrial machinery and plant equipment
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
  • Experience using root cause analysis methods to identify underlying faults
  • Understanding of automation, control systems and equipment design
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance
  • Able to work effectively alongside production and engineering teams
  • Experience within plastics or a similar continuous manufacturing environment would be advantageous
