Our client is a well-established, industry-leading process manufacturer supplying high-quality products to customers nationwide. Due to ongoing site developments and operational demands, they are looking to recruit a skilled Electrical Shift Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will play a vital part in driving plant efficiency, executing production plans, and upholding rigorous standards across safety, hygiene, and continuous improvement.

The Role

  • Core Operations & Efficiency: Safely operating production facilities to deliver SKUs strictly in line with prescribed quality standards, timeframes, and production plans - all while managing operating costs and supporting site KPIs. Covering other operational roles as staffing demands dictate.
  • Maintenance & Engineering Support: Working closely with Engineering colleagues to minimize breakdowns, outages, and downtime, as well as actively assisting with Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
  • Quality, EHS & Compliance: Adhering strictly to Environmental Management System standards, supporting pest control initiatives, and executing hazard/accident reporting. Supporting customer complaint processes through QC checks, root-cause investigations, and operational improvements.
  • Continuous Improvement & Leadership: Proactively collaborating with the Production Manager and Team Manager/Shift Lead to tackle bottlenecks, drive ongoing plant efficiency, and support site improvement works linked to audit compliance. Deputizing for senior staff and assisting in emergency/incident responses when required.

The Candidate

  • Proven operational experience within a modern processing, FMCG, or manufacturing environment.
  • Good technical aptitude with hands-on experience supporting basic mechanical maintenance/PPMs.
  • A strong, proactive safety mindset with experience following environmental standards and hazard reporting processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement and plant efficiency.
  • Experience in an Electrical Maintenance role previously. Happy to look at candidates 50/50 bias. Electrical qualifications are highly desirable.
