Are you a Junior Engineer with ambitions to develop into a Senior Mechanical Design engineer within a highly regulated and technically interesting sector? Due to continued growth, my client is looking for a junior design engineer to join the team at their facility in Abingdon. The successful applicant will be joining an experienced design team and will gain exposure to highly regulated sectors such as nuclear and defence. This is an excellent opportunity to join a company that prioritises employee retention, training and development, whilst offering a clear pathway and support to reach chartered status if desired.

We are looking for a junior engineer with CAD experience that has ambition to progress in their career, within a first-class engineering organisation. You will be working for a well-established and highly profitable SME that supports a range of blue-chip customers. Full industry training will be provided with a view to moving into a senior role within the department.

Please note: due to the nature of the projects you will be working on, only applicants with a UK passport and right to work will be considered for this role.

The Role:

  • Working on the design, compliance and licensing of a technically interesting product range
  • Preparing technical documentation such as design reports and proposals
  • You will be trained to carry out impact and thermal calculations (hand & FEA)

The Person:

  • Holds a relevant engineering degree or qualification
  • Must have experience using CAD
  • Must live a commutable distance from Abingdon
