The business specialises within portal frame, shed building and design & build steel structures across large commercial and industrial projects.
Projects include:
- Warehousing / logistics units
- Industrial buildings
- Student accommodation
- Large commercial steel structures
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop within a contractor environment and gain exposure to the full project lifecycle rather than sitting within a purely theoretical role. You’d be joining a small, experienced engineering team with very low staff turnover and working closely alongside senior engineers, estimators and project teams.
The role will involve:
- Structural calculations & design work
- Portal frame projects
- Steel building design
- Working alongside fabrication and commercial teams
- Exposure to live projects from concept through to delivery
- Using Tekla Portal Frame and Tekla 3D Structural Analysis software
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Structural Engineering or similar
- Some exposure to portal frame design
- Some exposure to structural steel projects
- Comfortable using Tekla Portal Frame and Tekla 3D Structural Analysis software
- Understanding of structural engineering principles
- Strong communication skills
- Practical approach to engineering and problem solving
- Must already have the right to work in the UK
Relevant exposure could have been gained through:
- A previous structural engineering role
- Placement year
- Internship
- University projects
- Consultancy or contractor experience
