We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary School PE Teacher to deliver high-quality and engaging physical education lessons and sports activities to primary-aged children. The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting physical activity, developing fundamental movement skills, and fostering a positive and inclusive sporting environment for all pupils.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and well-structured PE lessons and sports sessions for primary-aged pupils
- Collaborate with teaching staff to support whole-school objectives and pupil development
- Use a variety of teaching strategies and equipment to maximise participation and enjoyment
- Promote teamwork, resilience, confidence, and sportsmanship through physical activity
- Track pupil progress and provide constructive feedback to support development
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
- Follow safeguarding and health & safety policies at all times
- Lead extracurricular clubs and support school sports events and competitions
Qualifications
- Relevant coaching qualification (e.g., a 1st4Sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching or Sports Degree or Equivalent)
- At least 1 year’s experience teaching sports/coaching in a similar environment
- Strong understanding of inclusive physical education practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive, patient, and flexible approach
- Be at least 18 years old
- A full driving licence with access to own transport
Desirable Requirements
- Up-to-date Enhanced DBS certificate on the DBS update service (can be applied for)
- Safeguarding Certificate (training given)
- Paediatric first aid Certificate (training provided)
