We are seeking a self-motivated and proactive Plant Fitter to join a busy Plant and Workshop team. You will take responsibility for the maintenance and repair of a large and varied fleet of heavy plant machinery, helping to ensure all equipment remains safe, reliable, and operating at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out maintenance across a diverse fleet of heavy plant equipment
- Completing accurate paperwork following all maintenance activities
- Performing both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs
- Working safely and in line with risk assessments and method statements
- Identifying and reporting unsafe practices and contributing to a safe working environment
- Diagnosing faults, identifying required parts, and carrying out effective repairs
- Problem-solving mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
Skills and Experience Required:
- Strong knowledge of heavy plant machinery, including electrical and hydraulic systems
- Good understanding of workshop operations and health & safety procedures
- IT literate with the ability to complete digital or written maintenance records
- Full UK driving licence
