The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Architectural Technician to join our Technical team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the design and technical delivery of modular construction projects throughout the UK, working closely with internal teams, clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
We're looking for a technically capable individual with strong design experience who can take ownership of technical information, support project delivery, and help maintain the high standards of quality, compliance and innovation that Elite Systems GB is known for.
The Role
As Senior Architectural Technician, you will play a key role in the preparation, coordination and management of technical information and design documentation across a range of modular construction projects. You will work closely with internal teams, clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers, supporting the successful delivery of design and technical requirements across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Operation of systems within Design/Technical Department.
- Responsible for communication of information to staff, clients and subcontractors of design and technical matters.
- Preparation and submission of Design paperwork to internal and external stakeholders.
- Specification of special materials and design details.
- Design Risk Assessments and compliance with CDM.
- Maintenance of statutory ‘design’ documentation, i.e. Building Regs.
- Operation, review and development of the computer draughting systems within the Design Office.
- Liaison with Sub‑Contractors and Suppliers on design matters.
- Input to drawing administration documentation.
- Supporting the performance of future junior designers by identifying training needs relevant to the companies’ requirements and promoting the continual improvement/developments of staff, when required.
- Producing detailed design and construction drawings, where relevant seeking appropriate professional advice.
- Maintain manuals relevant to the design function i.e. Home Office and HTM guides.
- Support design/Technical training throughout the company.
- Update and maintain design procedures and initiate design plans.
- Provide design calculations, either in‑house or through an approved professional source – in co‑ordination with technical team.
- Operate within the budgets and targets set for your department.
- Implement the Company Policy on Quality, Health, Safety and Welfare & Environmental.
- Providing technical support for the Sales team including visiting clients where required.
- Submitting Planning and Building Regulations Applications.
- Input of information to Operating and Maintenance manuals.
- Carrying out Pre Site Surveys subject to Resource availability.
- Attend and contribute to R &D meetings.
- Standard drawings to be responsibility of Technical Office.
- Minimum 10 years post‑qualification experience, senior technician status.
- Degree qualifications, preferably CIAT accredited.
- Minimum 5 years Revit experience at a good level of competence, ideally with parametric modelling capability but not essential.
- RIBA stages 2-7 experience.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
- Modular building experience.
