Elite Supply Services are recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEMH school in Stoke-on-Trent for an enthusiastic and motivated
Unqualified Teacher / Vocational Instructor to join their team from
1st September on an ongoing full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in vocational education, construction, motor vehicle maintenance, engineering, or a related trade who is passionate about inspiring young people through practical, hands-on learning.
Working within a specialist educational setting, you will support pupils with
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them develop valuable life skills, confidence and employability through engaging vocational lessons.
The Role
As a Vocational Instructor, you will
- Deliver engaging vocational lessons with a focus on practical learning.
- Teach areas such as construction, motor vehicle maintenance and other vocational subjects where appropriate.
- Develop pupils' technical knowledge alongside essential employability and life skills.
- Create a positive, supportive and therapeutic learning environment.
- Motivate and inspire pupils who may have experienced barriers to learning.
- Promote resilience, confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams and support staff to ensure pupils achieve their full potential.
- The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who
- Has experience within construction, motor vehicle maintenance, engineering, trades or vocational education.
- Has experience working with young people, either in education, training, youth work, coaching or mentoring (desirable).
- Is confident leading practical learning sessions.
- Can build positive relationships with pupils with SEMH needs.
- Has strong behaviour management skills and remains calm under pressure.
- Is passionate about helping young people achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.
- Holds relevant vocational qualifications (desirable but not essential).
- Has a teaching qualification or instructor experience (advantageous but not essential).
