Head of Commercial and Procurement

Our client is a highly successful, transport company based in Suffolk and Somerset. We are looking for a Head of Commercial and Procurement to join the wider business this role is a full time, permanent position working Monday – Friday and the salary is circa £65,000 depending on background and experience. The purpose of the role is to oversee the management of contracts, suppliers, tenders and negotiations. You will work closely with stakeholders across the supply chain and will look to optimise commercial benefit to the business. The main duties are but not restricted to; · Select appropriate supplies through thorough quoting and tendering process and ensure review meetings and negotiations happen on a regular basis · Evaluate current systems in place and evaluate change where necessary to ensure commercial benefit · Working closely with the finance team to ensure good financial management · Ensure tenders are compliant with scope and commercial requirements of the business · Providing line management for Commercial Manager The successful candidate must have; * Experience in a commercial and procurement role * Ideally knowledge within the transport industry * Contract management qualifications * A flexible approach to work * Excellent computer skills * Excellent written and verbal communication * Team player approach to work This is a phenomenal opportunity to join a fast paced business and really make a difference!
