Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Supporting the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns
- Assisting with VAT returns and management accounts
- Maintaining accurate financial records and client information
- Supporting senior team members with client queries and day-to-day accounting matters
- Developing an understanding of accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
- Building strong relationships with clients and colleagues
- Assisting with bookkeeping and cloud accounting software
- Supporting the wider team on ad hoc projects and advisory work
- Contributing to process improvements and delivering excellent client service
The successful candidate will have:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related subject
- A strong interest in pursuing a career within accountancy practice
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong numerical and analytical abilities
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Experience using accounting software would be advantageous but is not essential
