We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced and skilled Vehicle Technician to join a well-established automotive business based in Bridgwater, offering a competitive salary of up to £45,000, depending on experience. This is a full-time, Monday to Friday, workshop-based role and provides a great chance to become part of a friendly, supportive, and professional team.
This is a varied and hands-on position where you will play an important role in maintaining the high standards of workmanship and customer service the business is known for. Working within a close-knit team, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of vehicle servicing, repairs, and diagnostics across multiple makes and models.
The role requires a proactive and detail-focused individual who takes pride in their work and is committed to delivering high-quality results. You will be expected to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy, ensuring all vehicles are maintained and repaired to the highest standards. As part of your role, you will also support the wider team by sharing your knowledge and assisting in the development of junior technicians and apprentices. Key Duties:
- Perform routine servicing and repairs on a variety of vehicle makes and models
- Carry out vehicle diagnostics using modern diagnostic tools and equipment
- Conduct MOT tests and ensure vehicles meet all legal requirements
- Provide clear and accurate reports on work completed and any additional work needed
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, following all health and safety guidelines
- Keep up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair methods
- Support and mentor less experienced technicians and apprentices
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician in a professional garage environment
- NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Experience using a wide range of tools and diagnostic equipment
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- A reliable, proactive, and positive approach to work
- A full UK driving licence
