We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative and forward thinking, Mechanical & Electrical specialist, based in London. The role is for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on multiple projects concurrently across the capital. The Head Office is based in SW London and the role will be predominately design/office based with some on-site working. To be considered for this role, you must hold Level 8 in an Engineering discipline and have a minimum of 7 years, hand on experience in an engineering position, ideally within the energy sector. Key Responsibilities: * Feasibility, concept design, detailed design and project delivery work across a range of scales and types of heat network projects around the UK, with a focus on the London area. * Act as lead engineer as part of the project development team, conducting front-end engineering (FEED) work to assist in securing new projects. * Engagement with supply chain during both initial procurement and delivery phases to ensure optimal product selection and delivery. * Provide project engineering support to a number of live projects, working directly under the Project Manager. * Site visits (from single day to several weeks, as needed) to project sites both in London and elsewhere in the UK, to resolve issues during construction engineering, commissioning or operation phases. * Review, analysis and reporting on project performance. Experience/Qualifications Required: * Level 8 / Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering * Min 7 years’ experience in an engineering role, preferably within the energy sector * Flexible and enthusiastic approach, with a willingness to take on novel challenges * Good understanding of heat network systems, and in particular LTHW systems and heat pumps. * Proficiency in MS Office suite, in particular MS Excel and MS Word * Some experience preferable in use of computer drawing software, e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Solidworks * Desire to experience full project engineering lifecycle, from early concept design through to construction, commissioning and operation * Willingness to engage and collaborate with a wide range of multi-disciplinary counterparties
