We are seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to lead contract delivery and management for a mechanical contractor based in West London. In this role, you will oversee the full lifecycle of mechanical delivery contracts, managing relationships with public and private sector clients whilst leading and developing teams of engineers. You will be responsible for ensuring contracts are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your strategic oversight will encompass financial performance, resource allocation, risk management, and team leadership, with a focus on building long-term client partnerships and driving operational excellence across multiple concurrent projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage contract delivery across public sector clients, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, service level agreements, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop teams of engineers, setting performance standards and fostering a culture of technical excellence and accountability.
  • Oversee profit and loss (P&L) management for mechanical delivery contracts, monitoring costs, revenue, and financial performance against budgets.
  • Develop and manage budgets for mechanical delivery projects, forecasting expenditure and identifying cost optimisation opportunities.
  • Negotiate contract terms, variations, and change orders with clients, ensuring commercial viability and risk mitigation.
  • Monitor project timelines, resource allocation, and delivery milestones, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with public sector stakeholders, acting as the primary point of contact for contract matters.

  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams of engineers or technical staff.
  • Strong track record of P&L management and budget control for mechanical delivery contracts.
  • Experience with contract negotiation, variation management, and commercial dispute resolution.
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement frameworks and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and contract management systems.
  • Understanding of mechanical engineering principles and delivery methodologies.
