Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their friendly finance team. This role will have a strong focus on Sales Ledger
, while also supporting the wider finance function including Purchase Ledger
, payroll administration and month-end processes.. .
Accounts Assistant Key Responsibilities
- - Accounts Processing: Handle all aspects of day-to-day accounting, including purchase and sales ledger, bank reconciliations, and cash flow management..
- - Sage 50 Cloud Expertise: Utilise Sage 50 Cloud to manage and record transactions, run reports, and maintain accurate financial records..
- - Invoicing and Payments: Process sales and purchase invoices, track payments, and ensure accuracy in supplier and customer accounts..
- - VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC requirements..
- - Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and reports..
- - Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts regularly and ensure accurate financial reporting..
- - Payroll Support: Provide support in payroll and related processes as required..
- - Project
Support: Work closely with the project management team to track costs, ensure accurate project invoicing, and maintain up-to-date financial records for ongoing M&E projects..
- - Ad Hoc Financial Tasks: Assist with various other accounting and administrative duties as needed, including filing, reporting, and responding to accounts-related queries..
- Accounts Assistant Skills and Qualifications
- - Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant, ideally with 2-3 years in a similar role..
- - Strong experience using Sage 50 Cloud for financial transactions, reporting, and reconciliation..
- - AAT, ACCA, or equivalent accounting qualification (or working towards)..
- - Experience with M&E project-based accounting would be a plus..
- - Excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment..
- - High attention to detail with a methodical approach to work and problem-solving..
- - Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications..
- - Excellent communication skills for liaising with both internal teams and external clients/suppliers..
- - Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently..
