Elite Site Services Ltd is looking for an experienced Stick Welder / Mechanical Fitter to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. We specialise in the installation, maintenance, repair and refurbishment of industrial conveyors and balers, predominantly within the waste, recycling and industrial sectors. This is a UK-wide site-based position with regular working away and excellent earning potential.

The Role

You will travel to customer sites throughout the UK carrying out welding, mechanical fitting, maintenance and installation work. Typical duties include:

  • Stick/MMA welding
  • Mechanical fitting
  • Conveyor installation, repair and maintenance
  • Conveyor chain replacement
  • Replacement of bearings, shafts, sprockets and rollers
  • Baler repairs and refurbishment
  • On-site fabrication and modifications
  • Planned preventative maintenance
  • Breakdown repairs
  • Installation and removal of industrial machinery

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced engineer who is a competent Stick/MMA welder and mechanical fitter. Previous experience with conveyors, balers, recycling equipment or heavy industrial machinery would be an advantage. Applicants must:

  • Be competent in Stick/MMA welding
  • Have mechanical fitting experience
  • Be willing to travel and work away throughout the UK
  • Be willing to work regular overtime
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Be reliable and punctual
  • Be capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • Have a good attitude towards health and safety

A valid CCNSG Safety Passport or suitable equivalent is required for site work. If you don't currently hold one, this can be arranged/booked for the right candidate prior to attending sites. Other relevant site safety qualifications will also be considered, subject to individual site requirements.

Hours & Earnings

The basic rate is £23.00 per hour, with a significant amount of regular overtime available. Our engineers currently average approximately 20 hours of overtime per week, giving the potential to earn £70,000+ per year, depending on the hours worked. Due to the amount of overtime available, working hours will be managed in accordance with applicable working-time requirements.
