We are recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a brand-new education provision based in Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire. This service will be delivered on-site at a six-bed residential home supporting children affected by Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE). It is the latest addition from a well-established provider with a strong track record of running high-quality children's homes across the West Midlands and Northamptonshire. This is the organisation's second education provision, with more in development across their network. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a new and trauma-informed educational setting, designed to provide specialist support and a safe, structured environment for some of the most vulnerable young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and support tailored education programmes to meet individual needs
- Work closely with the Provision Lead and therapeutic team to provide integrated care and education
- Support children emotionally and academically, in line with EHCPs
- Contribute to lesson planning, preparation and assessments
- Create and maintain a calm, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Essential Requirements
- HLTA qualification or equivalent
- Substantial experience supporting children with complex needs, including trauma and SEN
- Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes
- Understanding of safeguarding and working with vulnerable children
- Experience in a school or therapeutic education setting
- Empathetic, resilient, and committed to helping children rebuild trust and confidence
