Registered Manager – Brand-New Children's Residential Home

Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire

Home: Brand-New 2-Bed EBD Children's Home

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

An exciting opportunity to build something exceptional from the start.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a brand-new 2-bed children's residential home in Rotherham, supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

The home is fully registered and ready to begin welcoming young people. We are now looking for the right Registered Manager to take ownership of the service, build a strong team and establish a positive culture from day one.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious manager who wants to make a genuine difference and have a direct influence on how a new home develops.

The Role

As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, management and development of the home, ensuring that children receive safe, consistent and high-quality care.

You will:

  • Lead the day-to-day management of the home and ensure excellent standards of care.
  • Build and develop a strong, motivated and child-focused staff team.
  • Lead the recruitment, induction, supervision and development of staff.
  • Establish a positive culture based on safeguarding, relationships, accountability and high expectations.
  • Ensure the home operates in line with the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
  • Maintain strong safeguarding practices and effective risk management.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
  • Work closely with social workers, local authorities, education, health services and other professionals.
  • Support children and young people to achieve positive outcomes and develop independence.
  • Monitor quality, compliance and performance through regular audits and reviews.
  • Prepare the home for successful Ofsted inspections and maintain strong inspection readiness.
  • Manage incidents, complaints, safeguarding concerns and other matters appropriately.
  • Create an environment where staff feel supported, valued and accountable for the care they provide.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or experienced Senior within a children's residential setting.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and children's residential care.
  • Experience working with children and young people with EBD, trauma or complex needs.
  • A good understanding of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
  • Experience leading, supervising and developing staff teams.
  • Strong communication and partnership-working skills.
  • The ability to make sound decisions and remain calm under pressure.
  • A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.
  • A proactive approach to compliance, quality improvement and service development.
  • The confidence and motivation to take ownership of a new service and build it into a successful, high-performing home.

Why Join Us?

This is more than simply taking over an established home.

You will have the opportunity to build a service from the ground up, recruit your own team, establish the culture and standards of the home, and shape how the service develops.

With the home already registered, the focus is now on putting the right people and systems in place and preparing to welcome the first young people.

You will be supported to develop the service while having the autonomy to bring your own leadership style, experience and ideas to the role.

The Opportunity

If you are an ambitious children's residential care professional who wants to be part of something new and make a lasting difference, we would love to hear from you.

This is an opportunity to lead a brand-new 2-bed EBD home in Rotherham and create a service that children, families, professionals and staff can be proud of.
