We are proud to be supporting this long established Company that specialise in the humane handling of stray dogs, who are seeking 2 Trainee Dog Wardens who live in the SLOUGH area. You will be driving around Milton Keynes, Greenwich, Bromley, London and surrounding areas. Full training is provided for this position.
Duties include:
- Collection of stray dogs, learning to manage very frightened dogs that may be aggressive and hard to control.
- Delivering dogs to Kennels, Battersea Dogs Home or Foster families or reuniting them with owners.
- Liaison with Vets regarding the treatment of wounded and sick dogs.
- You will look after animal welfare; including settling them into Kennels, feeding them and keeping kennels clean at all times.
- Meticulous reporting and completion of forms.
The Company operates on a shift basis and is open 365 days per year. We need 2 people to cover Core hours of 1pm to 11pm, 4 days per week including some weekends. However, flexibility is required to cover the Day Shift (10am to 6.00pm) and an occasional requirement to work the Night Shift (4pm to 4am). We need another person to be able to cover all shifts as required.
Essential requirements:
- Must have a Love for Dogs.
- Must have experience working with dogs.
- Must be able to work on own initiative and problem solve.
- Must be IT literate (MS Outlook and Excel) with Tablet and PC experience for reporting.
- Must have held a full manual UK Driving Licence for a minimum of 2 years, with no more than 3 points. A commercial vehicle (Van) will be provided.
- Must be 22 or over for Insurance Purposes.
- Must be able to lift dogs and dog crates onto vehicles.
- A DBS Check will be undertaken, which must be clear.
