Legal Secretary - Residential Property
Elite Personnel are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Legal Secretary to join their Residential Property team.
The Role
This is a permanent, full-time, office-based position, working Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.
You will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the Residential Property team, ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed timescales.
You will also assist fee earners with the progression of residential property transactions, maintaining high standards of client care, file management and communication with clients, estate agents, lenders and other third parties.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake a full range of legal secretarial duties, including audio and copy typing, word processing, file opening, filing, time recording and completion of basic legal forms.
- Attend to clients, take telephone messages and ensure these are brought to the attention of the relevant fee earner.
- Make telephone calls to clients and third parties, provide information where appropriate and take suitable action on messages received.
- Assist with accounts procedures and completion of relevant accounts documentation.
- Work independently and use initiative to progress standard fee-earning work.
- Maintain accurate and well-organised files and documentation in line with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Carry out other associated duties as reasonably required.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate professionally with clients and third parties.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet multiple deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Excellent administrative and file management skills, including electronic filing and document preparation.
- The ability to work independently using initiative while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and case management systems.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- An understanding of anti-money laundering (AML) requirements and client due diligence procedures.
- A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to respond positively to changing priorities and business needs.
