Elite Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a well‑established Tamworth‑based client who is seeking an experienced Credit / Debt Controller to join their growing team. This role is based in a modern, professional office environment and offers excellent benefits and long‑term career progression.

The Role

  • You will be responsible for managing and collecting outstanding debt across a varied portfolio of business customers.
  • The focus of the role is to ensure invoices are paid on time, resolving queries efficiently and professionally, and maintaining strong working relationships—taking proactive action before any further escalation is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively chase outstanding invoices across multiple business types
  • Ensure payments are received within agreed terms
  • Resolve invoice and account queries promptly and professionally
  • Maintain accurate records of customer communications and payment activity
  • Build strong relationships with customers to support timely payments
  • Escalate overdue accounts where necessary, following company procedures
  • Work closely with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and prevent delays

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Credit Controller or Debt Controller
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Confident handling high‑volume accounts
  • Organised, resilient, and able to work to deadlines
  • Professional and customer‑focused approach
