Elite Personnel is working with a well-established legal firm in Lichfield to recruit an experienced Residential Conveyancer to join their property team.

The Role

As a Residential Conveyancer, you will be responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of residential property transactions.

You will work closely with clients, solicitors, estate agents and mortgage lenders to ensure each matter progresses efficiently and in line with legal and regulatory requirements.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Managing residential property files from initial instruction through to completion and post-completion.
  • Handling freehold and leasehold sales and purchases.
  • Managing remortgages, transfers of equity and other residential conveyancing matters.
  • Reviewing contracts, title documents, searches and property information.
  • Raising and responding to pre-contract enquiries.
  • Identifying potential legal issues and providing practical advice.
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, brokers and other legal professionals.
  • Ensuring transactions progress in line with agreed deadlines.
  • Preparing completion statements and coordinating exchanges and completions.
  • Overseeing post-completion processes, including registration and SDLT submissions where applicable.
  • Maintaining accurate case management records and time recording.
  • Completing AML, client identification and source-of-funds checks.
  • Ensuring compliance with SRA, CQS and internal procedures.
  • Providing regular updates to clients and managing expectations throughout the process.

About You

We are looking for an organised and client-focused individual who can confidently manage a caseload while maintaining a high standard of service.

The ideal candidate will have

  • A minimum of

3 years' experience in residential conveyancing .

  • Strong knowledge of the residential property transaction process.
  • Experience managing both freehold and leasehold matters.
  • The ability to work independently and prioritise competing deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • A good understanding of property law and conveyancing procedures.
  • Familiarity with lender requirements and CQS processes.
  • Confidence using IT and case management systems.
  • A proactive approach to identifying risks and resolving issues.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals.
