The Opportunity
We are recruiting a Quality Inspector to join a long-established engineering company in Leicester. We are open to applicants from both quality and welding backgrounds. This role would be particularly suitable for a skilled welder who can read technical drawings and understands weld quality, but no longer wants to weld on a daily basis. The salary is negotiable depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Visual and dimensional inspection of welded and fabricated components
- Using measuring tools such as verniers, callipers, gauges and other metrology equipment
- Checking parts against engineering drawings and customer specifications
- Accurately recording inspection results
- Working with production and welding teams to resolve quality concerns
- Ensuring products meet required standards before dispatch
- Keeping the inspection area tidy, safe and well organised
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in quality inspection or strong welding/fabrication experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Understanding of weld quality, tolerances and fabrication standards
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable, organised and able to follow established quality processes
- Good communication and teamwork skills
