My client’s specialist architecture team is looking to add a Principal / Director / VP – System Architect to support the development of next-generation compute and graphics IP. This role is focused on strengthening system-level architecture capability — moving beyond individual IP blocks into how full platforms are defined, integrated, and delivered in real-world environments.
You will operate at the intersection of GPU, CPU, memory, and interconnect — working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure architecture decisions align with both technical and commercial requirements.
Role & Responsibilities:- Define and drive system-level architecture across GPU / CPU / SoC platforms
- Lead design considerations across:
- Memory hierarchy and bandwidth optimisation
- Interconnects (PCIe, CXL, NoC)
- Multi-processor and chiplet-based systems
- Work closely with architecture, design, and product teams to align technical direction
- Translate customer requirements into scalable and commercially viable solutions
- Influence long-term roadmap and platform-level decision making
- Provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams globally
- Stay aligned with industry trends and emerging system architectures
- Strong experience in system-level / SoC architecture (beyond block-level design)
- Deep understanding of:
- Memory systems
- Interconnects (PCIe, CXL, NoC)
- Multi-core / multi-chip systems
- Experience across CPU, GPU, or high-performance compute environments
- Ability to translate complex technical requirements into practical system solutions
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working across global teams and complex engineering environments
- Not a pure RTL or block-level design role
- Not a verification or implementation-led position
- Not isolated architecture — this is about full platform ownership and integration
- Ownership of system-level architecture across next-generation platforms
- Direct influence on product direction and customer-facing solutions
- Opportunity to work across GPU, CPU, and broader compute ecosystems
- Senior environment with real technical and commercial impact
- ~£150,000 – £200,000 base salary (depending on level and experience)
- ~30% bonus
- ~Total compensation: £195,000 – £260,000+
- ~Flexible / hybrid working model
- ~Pension
- ~Private medical
- ~Life assurance
- ~Income protection
- ~Training and development
My client can offer a 3-stage process consisting of a 1st stage Video Call, 2nd Stage Video Call and a 3rd Stage on-site Interview (meet the team and site tour). This process can be completed within 2-3 weeks (based on availability).
