My client’s specialist architecture team is looking to add a Principal / Fellow – Performance Modelling to support the development of next-generation compute and graphics IP. Their current modelling capability isn’t where it needs to be — and this hire is a key part of fixing that.

This role sits at the intersection of architecture and modelling, working closely with engineering, architecture, and product teams to ensure design decisions are driven by accurate, scalable, and modern modelling approaches. You will play a key role in moving the organisation from traditional validation towards a more simulation-led, architecture-influencing capability.

Principal / Fellow – Performance Modelling Role & Responsibilities:

  • Define and evolve performance modelling strategy across CPU / GPU / SoC architectures
  • Introduce and implement modern modelling approaches (SystemC, TLM, simulation frameworks)
  • Influence architecture decisions early through pre-silicon modelling and analysis
  • Build scalable modelling environments for early-stage architectural exploration
  • Challenge legacy approaches and implement more effective, forward-looking solutions
  • Act as a technical authority for modelling best practice across the organisation
  • Collaborate with global teams across architecture, design, and product

Principal / Fellow – Performance Modelling Essential Skills:

  • Strong experience in system-level / architectural performance modelling
  • Hands-on expertise with: SystemC / TLM, Simulation / virtual prototyping environments
  • Experience influencing architecture decisions, not just validating them
  • Background in CPU, GPU, or complex SoC environments
  • Strong understanding of performance, power, and system-level trade-offs
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts across technical teams

Why This Role:

  • Ownership of a critical and currently underdeveloped capability
  • Direct influence on architecture and product decisions
  • Opportunity to modernise and improve how modelling is used across the organisation
  • Senior environment where your input will shape direction, not just execution

Salary and Package:

  • ~£160,000 – £220,000 base salary (depending on level and experience)
  • ~30% bonus
  • ~Total compensation: £200,000 – £286,000+
  • ~Flexible / hybrid working model
  • ~Pension
  • ~Private medical
  • ~Life assurance
  • ~Income protection
  • ~Training and development

My client can offer a 3-stage process consisting of a 1st stage Video Call, 2nd Stage Video Call and a 3rd Stage on-site Interview (meet the team and site tour). This process can be completed within 2-3 weeks (based on availability).
