We are looking for someone to join our team as Procurement Manager overseeing every aspect of our purchasing and supply chain for a busy business.

You will purchase goods, materials and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met, considering price, quality and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply. Energetic and willing to learn, with good judgment, the ability to negotiate and effectively communicate with suppliers, an analytical mind who can easily understand the purchasing and supply chain industry. You are confident, able and willing to suggest, investigate and introduce improvements and new processes. You enjoy analysing and solving complex problems and have careful attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
  • Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
  • Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers.
  • Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible.
  • Deliver briefs, updates and reports as and when required.
  • Develop strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement.
  • Negotiate contracts, improved prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers and undertake performance reviews to ensure contract compliance and manage performance improvement activities.
  • Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships.
  • Explore alternate sources for goods and materials.
  • Assess tenders and quotations from potential suppliers.
  • Liaise with Project Managers to ensure transport and logistic needs of the business are met.
Stock Management:
  • Proactively seek stock data from Workshop and Mobile Teams.
  • Be involved in the management and processing of quarterly stock takes.
Review and Place Purchase Order:
  • Gain a thorough knowledge of the materials, products, and equipment used in day to day, site and workshop processes.
  • Learn and fully understand our operating system and work with Operational and Design teams in setting up new products, and supplier pricing.
  • Liaise with supply chain and build good working relationships to ensure that we obtain best pricing and service.
  • At regular intervals, price-check suppliers and where necessary source new suppliers.
  • Before placing an order, carefully check purchase orders for accuracy, completeness and clarity.
  • Verify that product information, shipping information, cost and delivery dates are all correct before obtaining authorisation to place an order.
  • Place purchase orders, proactively chase and manage suppliers and provide weekly updates to relevant departments to ensure goods arrive on time.
  • Work with Finance team in verifying accuracy of purchase invoices.
Schedule Purchases and Arrivals:
  • Work with vendors to schedule shipping and delivery times.
  • Receive any orders and verify that the correct items and amounts have been delivered.

Highly skilled at building and maintaining effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers. Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills. Analytical, numerically astute with strong proven problem-solving abilities. Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines. Commercially and financially aware. Keen attention to detail and accuracy. Interest in manufacturing and construction industry. Strong emphasis on accuracy and detail. Strong mathematical knowledge.

Relevant Experience:
  • Experienced in procurement processes, policies and procedures.
Other Requirements:
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel.

Location: Office-based role at our Perivale Head Quarters in northwest London. Start Date: ASAP.
