The Pre Sales Technical Design Architect (TDA) is accountable for translating customer business goals into robust, scalable and supportable technical designs across the full opportunity and delivery lifecycle. Acting as Elite Group’s technical authority, the TDA owns the Design lifecycle, validates solution feasibility, and ensures platforms are delivered by the technical functions, to specification and operational readiness.
The role works closely with Sales, Delivery, Support, suppliers and most importantly customers, engaging directly in requirements workshops and technical discussions to shape solutions that translate to customer focused outcomes. The TDA supports core platform builds, governs design changes, mentors engineering teams, and acts as a senior escalation point. Through strong design governance and supplier engagement, the TDA protects margin, reduces delivery risk, and ensures an exceptional customer experience end to end.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Act as technical authority throughout the customer journey.
- Engage directly with customers through workshops and technical meetings.
- Understand customer business objectives and translate them into technical requirements.
- Support Sales in solution validation to help win deals.
- Mentor and support Engineers as required.
- Act as a 4th line escalation point, liaising with customers and suppliers.
- Lead structured handovers between Sales, Delivery and Support.
- Contribute and support the business in product roadmap, decisions and plans from a technical perspective including best suppliers to work with.
- Architect and oversee complex migrations and platform transitions.
- Identify technical risks and define mitigation strategies.
- Own the design lifecycle and governance.
- Own and produce the High-Level Design (HLD) during the pre-sales cycle.
- Validate solution architecture, licensing, hardware and professional service volumes.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure services are fit for purpose and correctly designed.
- Build core platforms (e.g. Zoom, Mitel and supporting infrastructure and other services as required).
- Support Engineers during complex implementations and cutovers.
- Maintain accountability for technical delivery against agreed specifications.
- Manage technical escalations with vendors and suppliers as needed.
- Support development of the LLD and As built documentation ahead of service transition.
- Own technical validation prior to service acceptance.
- Own the Low-Level Design (LLD), produced by Engineers, defining demarcation of responsibility.
- Lead Delivery-to-Support handover ensuring operational readiness.
- Drive standardisation, best practice and repeatable design frameworks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of delivery and design processes.

- Proven experience in a senior technical design or architecture role within B2B telecoms.
- Strong experience delivering UC and voice solutions in medium and enterprise environments.
- Experience with multi-vendor UC and hybrid environments.
- Exposure to connectivity, SIP, networking and security architecture.
- Current or recent certifications in Mitel and Zoom.
- Demonstrable experience translating customer goals into technical designs.
- Experience producing and owning High-Level Designs and design governance.
- Strong stakeholder management across Sales, Delivery, Support and suppliers.
- Experience mentoring engineers and supporting delivery teams.
- Ability to act as a senior escalation point (4th line support).
- Strong understanding of licensing models, hardware, and professional services.
- Commercial awareness with focus on margin protection and delivery risk.
