LOCATION: Oldbury, Birmingham
JOB PURPOSE: To undertake office and fostering panel administration tasks independently, efficiently, effectively with a view to achieve the organizational objectives as smoothly as possible.
Accountable to: Team Manager/Assessment Manager
This is a flexible role where you would be responsible but not limited to:
- Preparing all the panel papers for the fostering panel.
- To closely liaise with fostering panel members for its smooth and effective functioning.
- Undertake relevant checks on applicant foster carers.
- Attend team meetings and fostering panel meetings.
- Prepare minutes of all meetings taking place at the office including fostering panel minutes.
- To liaise with various local authorities and other professional agencies.
- To maintain up-to-date central list of panel members.
- Answering telephone calls to the office, directing calls to appropriate staff members, taking and relaying messages, and dealing with queries where possible, supplying information where necessary.
- Preparing and dispatching outgoing mail.
- General filing, photocopying, and scanning of documents.
- Maintaining signing in sheets of visitors, foster carers and staff members.
- Assist the Team Manager and Registered Manager in various meetings such as allocation meetings, team meetings, weekly performance review meetings.
- To undertake reasonable tasks that are associated with working in a Foster Agency.
Required Skills:
- At least 2 years experience of working in an Independent Fostering agency/local authority (desired).
- To have experience in working within a multi-cultural environment and demonstrating a commitment to Equal Opportunities towards its stakeholders.
- To have a clear understanding of office computer systems such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Emailing, preparing and sending letters, statements, reports, etc.
- Working knowledge in CHARMS (a fostering database) is an advantage.
- Have reasonable typing speed.
- UK full driving license with access to a car.
Personal qualities:
- To demonstrate a good telephone manner, and an ability to deal with queries.
- Outgoing and Approachable.
Annual Salary: £30,000
