We're looking for an enthusiastic and organised Recruitment & Progression Officer to join a dedicated education team supporting learners as they progress into further education, apprenticeships and employment.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same.

You'll play a vital part in attracting new learners, guiding them through their educational journey, and creating meaningful opportunities through employer partnerships and work placements.

The Role

You'll be responsible for managing the learner journey from initial enquiry through to successful progression.

Working closely with schools, Local Authorities, referral partners and employers, you'll help young people access the right opportunities while ensuring they receive the support they need to thrive.

Alongside learner recruitment, you'll build relationships with local employers to secure valuable work placements, carry out learner reviews, and provide ongoing guidance to help individuals overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit learners onto vocational programmes and guide them through the enrolment process.
  • Develop strong relationships with schools, colleges, Local Authorities, NEET teams and referral partners to generate learner referrals.
  • Conduct learner reviews, monitor progress and support individual progression plans.
  • Build partnerships with local employers to source meaningful work experience and industry placements.
  • Maintain regular contact with learners and employers throughout placements, carrying out visits where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, carers and external agencies to provide holistic learner support.
  • Encourage learner engagement, attendance and progression into further education, apprenticeships or employment.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure learner information is up to date.

About You

We're looking for someone who is personable, proactive and passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential.

You'll be confident building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and enjoy working in a role where your efforts have a direct impact on learners' futures.

  • You'll ideally have
  • A minimum of Level 2 English and Maths.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Experience within education, employability, youth support, careers guidance or vocational training.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to engage, motivate and inspire young people from a range of backgrounds.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and maintaining accurate learner records
