Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Solar Panel Fitter to join our growing renewables team in the North East. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on residential properties, along with supporting the Electrical Team with additional duties during installation. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, safe working practices, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Install solar PV panels on rooftop mounted systems
- Secure mounting systems and ensure correct alignment and positioning
- Connect panels to inverters and integrate with existing electrical systems
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times
- Work collaboratively with other trades and team members on-site
- Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working order
- Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally
Requirements
- Previous experience in solar panel installation or roofing/electrical work
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and wiring
- Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in various weather conditions
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to read technical drawings and installation manuals
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Desirable
- Experience with fitting solar PV on commercial premises
- Roofing qualification
- CSCS card
Annual salary for this role is £30,000 to £35,000, dependent on experience, paid PAYE monthly, with 30 days holiday (including bank), long-service holiday incentives and our pension scheme.
This role will be field based, full time 40 hours, Monday to Friday 8:30am-5pm, with a 30 minute lunch.
Flexibility towards the business needs is required including travel and Saturday working on a rota, paid as overtime (Time and a quarter)
