BENCH JOINER
Reporting to:Manager
Location: Mallusk, Newtownabbey
Hours of work: Mon-Thurs hr Week)
Salary:Negotiable based on experience
PURPOSE OF ROLE
Responsible for the production of high quality products including door frames and screens using various hand and mechanised tools.
Main Responsibilities Of The Job
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Manufacture and assemble joinery components.
- Ability to read and interpret workshop/design drawings and schedules
- To operate the required machinery including hand tools, saws and spindle moulders.
- Ensure quality standards are met and maintained.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed in line with Quality Management Systems.
- Assist in the wood machinery shop.
- Demonstrate knowledge of timber.
- Possible site visits to survey or carry out repair work.
- Carry out other duties as required.
- Education / Experience: Previous workshop experience
- Special Skills: Attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organisational skills and determination.
- Personal Qualities: High degree of initiative and self-motivation.
- Circumstances: Flexibility and willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
- Overall: Must fit into the team.
- Education / Experience: NVQ level 3 (or City & Guilds equivalent) in joinery.
