Abut the Role: Refurb Technicians are central to operations. You'll take bikes returned from customers, assess them, and bring them back to a safe, high-quality standard so they're ready for their next rider. The role combines hands-on mechanical work with a strong focus on consistency, quality and pace. Inspection and triage β€’ Inspect bikes and assess their condition against Bike Club's grading standards. β€’ Identify mechanical faults, worn or missing parts and cosmetic damage. β€’ Flag bikes that are beyond economical repair or need specialist attention. Repair and refurbishment β€’ Strip down, clean and degrease bikes as and when required. β€’ Service and repair brakes, gears, drivetrain, wheels, tyres, bearings, headsets and bottom brackets. β€’ Fit, adjust and replace components such as handlebars, grips, saddles, pedals and accessories. β€’ Carry out cosmetic refurbishment to the required standard for example cleaning any marks off. Final checks and recording β€’ Complete a full safety check on every bike before it's signed off to QC. β€’ Log work completed, plus parts used on the system for each bike. β€’ Move finished bikes to the correct location so they're ready for QC checks. Workshop β€’ Keep your workstation, tools and the wider workshop clean, safe and organised. β€’ Report low parts stock and faulty tools or equipment promptly. β€’ Support other areas of warehouse operations (e.g. goods-in, stock takes) when needed. Quality and safety standards β€’ Every bike must pass a quality control (QC) sign-off before it goes into stock – nothing leaves the bench without it β€’ Work to Bike Club's refurbishment checklist and cosmetic grading standards on every bike β€’ Bikes that fail QC are reworked by the technician responsible as a priority β€’ Follow workshop health and safety procedures at all times, including safe use of hand and power tools, stands and cleaning chemicals β€’ Wear the PPE provided (e.g. gloves, eye protection, safety footwear) where required β€’ Look after tools and equipment, and report any hazards, accidents or near misses straight away Output is a minimum of 14 Bikes per days TPBN1_UKTJ
