Fire Door Joiner – Nationwide
Location: Field Based – Nationwide UK Travel Salary: £40,000 – £42,500 per annum DOE Base: Manchester
We are recruiting for an experienced Fire Door Joiner to join a growing specialist fire division, carrying out fire door installation, inspection and remedial works across commercial, public-sector and residential projects throughout the UK.
Important – Travel & Working Away
This is a genuinely nationwide position and regular working away from home is a core part of the role.
Projects are located throughout the UK and you will be deployed according to project requirements.
This can mean working in different parts of the country from one week to the next, with overnight stays required where appropriate.
Candidates must therefore be genuinely comfortable with regular UK-wide travel and working away, rather than looking for a predominantly local or regional position.
Accommodation and applicable subsistence expenses are provided in line with company policy.
The Role
Working independently across client sites, you will be responsible for delivering fire door installations, inspections and remedial works to a high standard while ensuring full compliance with relevant fire safety requirements.
Responsibilities will include
- Carrying out fire door inspections and identifying defects and non-compliances.
- Completing full fire door installations, upgrades and remedial works.
- Ensuring all work meets relevant manufacturer specifications and FIRAS standards.
- Maintaining fire compartmentation integrity throughout all works.
- Recording site findings, photographs and completed works using One Trace or similar digital compliance software.
- Managing your daily workload and site requirements effectively.
- Working from RAMS and maintaining high health & safety standards.
- Liaising professionally with clients, site managers and other contractors.
- Travelling to projects throughout the UK, including regular overnight stays.
Requirements
Essential
- NVQ Level 2 in Joinery or Carpentry.
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong hands-on joinery experience.
- Experience installing, repairing or upgrading fire doors.
- Willingness and ability to travel nationwide and regularly work away from home.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Comfortable using mobile phones/tablets for site reporting and documentation.
Highly Desirable
- FIRAS certification.
- Fire door inspection experience.
- Experience completing fire door remedial works.
- One Trace or similar digital compliance/reporting experience.
- Previous experience working in a nationwide field-based position.
Package
- £40,000 – £42,500 per annum, depending on experience.
