The purpose of this role is to support the Merchandising team in trading the department and planning future ranges. The role will have full ownership of allocations and distribution, ensuring stock is effectively managed to maximise sales performance across stores and online. The role will also support, develop, and train the Allocator within the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Merchandising & Trading
- Support the Merchandising team in trading the department, with ownership of sales forecasting, maintaining and updating line cards, placing repeat orders, and planning markdown activity.
- Support the planning of future ranges by forecasting sales and working closely with the Buying team to maximise commercial opportunities.
- Produce and analyse daily and weekly trading reports to support informed decision-making.
- Take full ownership of allocations and distribution across the department to maximise sales potential.
- Work closely with stores to ensure stock packages are commercially appropriate, avoiding overstocking and maximising performance across key locations and online.
- Plan product options by store grade to ensure ranges are balanced and not over-assorted.
- Manage weekly stock intake for the department.
- Support, develop, and train the Allocator to ensure both department and individual objectives are achieved.
- Present trading figures, provide insights, and contribute confidently in meetings.
- Carry out ad hoc analysis and additional duties as required.
- Take ownership of personal development and actively engage in a coaching and feedback culture.
- Work towards agreed company objectives and attend training sessions and team meetings as required.
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum of 18 months’ experience in a Merchandising role within a retail Head Office environment.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Advanced Excel skills.
