We are recruiting an experienced Internal Sales Executive to join an established UK business supplying specialist materials, processing services and tailored supply solutions to customers across engineering and manufacturing. This is a proactive sales role combining account management with new business development. You will build strong customer relationships, understand individual requirements and provide commercially competitive solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a portfolio of existing customer accounts
- Proactively contact customers to identify opportunities and generate new business
- Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable products and services
- Respond to enquiries and prepare accurate, competitive quotations
- Follow up quotations and convert opportunities into orders
- Negotiate pricing while protecting margins and commercial objectives
- Process orders and keep customers updated throughout
- Build strong relationships with purchasing and engineering contacts
- Liaise with purchasing, processing, operations and warehouse teams
- Maintain accurate customer, enquiry and pipeline information
- Achieve agreed sales, margin and activity targets
About You
- Previous internal sales, account management or business development experience
- Experience supplying products or services to engineering, manufacturing or industrial customers would be advantageous
- A proactive approach and confidence making outbound sales calls
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Able to develop new business while maintaining existing accounts
- Comfortable preparing quotations and managing orders
- Well organised, responsive and able to manage competing priorities
- Confident using CRM and order-processing systems
