Commercial Operations Director
A rare opportunity for a leader from the commercial vehicle fleet industry to join a market-leading business in a role reporting directly to the Managing Director.
With responsibility for a national depot and workshop network working with a large vehicle fleet, you will have the autonomy to influence the future structure and direction of a major service organisation.
This is a highly visible leadership position combining operational ownership, customer engagement and commercial growth.
The Role
- The Commercial Operations Director will provide leadership across a nationwide depot and workshop network supporting commercial vehicle fleet management throughout the UK.
National travel will be required and candidates living within 1-2 hours of the Midlands will be best placed for this.
- Act as a key member of the senior leadership team, working closely with the Managing Director to shape future organisational design, capability and performance.
- Strengthen relationships with major fleet operators, spending time with customers to understand requirements and identify opportunities for service enhancement and business growth.
- Increase market penetration by improving service performance, developing customer-focused solutions and identifying opportunities to expand revenue streams.
- Lead regional management teams to deliver consistent operational standards, productivity and customer experience across the network.
- Challenge existing ways of working and introduce improvements that support efficiency, scalability and long-term profitability.
- The Commercial Operations Director should
- Have substantial leadership experience within the commercial vehicle fleet, fleet management, vehicle maintenance or related vehicle fleet aftersales sectors.
- Demonstrate a successful track record leading multi-site service, maintenance or operational teams through regional management structures.
- Possess strong commercial awareness and experience developing customer relationships within the fleet industry.
- Be comfortable operating at board and senior leadership level with responsibility for large operational teams and geographically dispersed locations.
- Have experience leading organisational change, service improvement programmes and business growth initiatives.
- Bring the credibility and industry knowledge associated with successful Heads of Service, Directors of Service Operations or Aftersales Directors within the commercial vehicle fleet industry.
