We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer, who will report directly to the Engineering Manager on site. The successful candidate will provide support in relation to all maintenance tasks and projects being undertaken, including day-to-day breakdown, PPM, equipment updates, new installations, and building/infrastructure upgrades.
Your Mission at Elis
- Ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with the Site Health and Safety instructions and the SSG Health and Safety manual, as well as in accordance with relevant engineering standards.
- Ensuring all PPM activities are completed on time as required, feeding back information to the Senior Engineer to improve the PPM system and activities.
- Working closely with the Engineer on the opposite shift to ensure all handover of ongoing activities is carried out every day, and sharing all other information and practices as required.
- Providing knowledge and input into continuous improvement of plant, machinery, and maintenance activities.
- Working with Engineering colleagues and Engineering Manager to identify long‑running problems and suitable solutions.
- Undertaking repairs to equipment in a safe and timely manner ensuring that Production is constantly updated on progress.
- Undertaking remedial engineering works to equipment or site as instructed by the Engineering Manager.
- Reporting any incidents, accidents and near misses in accordance with Health and Safety Policies.
- Ensuring that safe systems of work and best‑practice procedures are adhered to.
- Ensuring the Company’s disciplines, rules and standards are maintained.
- Maintaining excellent communication between Production staff and co‑workers.
What will make you stand out?
- A recognised qualification relevant to the role (e.g. mechanical or electrical C&G).
- Skills in both Electrical and Mechanical trades: Apprenticeship with indentures preferred.
- Electrical Installation Maintenance.
- Mechanical Fabrication/Maintenance.
- Electronic fault finding to component level.
- Preferred knowledge of other engineering disciplines including pneumatics, hydraulics, steam systems.
- Electrical Installation 18th Edition.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
