The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Textile Manager to join our site management team and take ownership of one of the most important areas of our operation – ensuring our textile stock is effectively managed, available when our customers need it and delivering the best possible return for the business.

As a leading provider of professional garments and textile rental and care services, textiles represent a significant investment for Elis.

This role is therefore about much more than managing stock.

You’ll take ownership of the entire textile lifecycle, balancing customer demand, product availability, quality, cost and sustainability.

Working closely with the General Manager and teams across Operations, Customer Service, Account Management and Sales, you'll use data and commercial insight to forecast demand, optimise stock levels, reduce unnecessary textile spend and increase the reuse and lifespan of our garments.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a broad and commercially important role where you'll have the opportunity to make a measurable impact on both site performance and our customer experience.

  • Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
  • Taking ownership of the site's textile strategy, ensuring effective management of the complete textile lifecycle.
  • Managing and controlling the textile budget, monitoring spend and identifying opportunities to improve performance.
  • Taking accountability for textile purchasing and ensuring investment is aligned with customer requirements and operational demand.
  • Forecasting textile demand, taking into account customer requirements, seasonal trends and local and national events.
  • Using data to optimise pool stock, balancing product availability with effective cost control.
  • Working cross-functionally with Customer Service, Account Management, Sales and Operations to ensure customer requirements can be delivered effectively.
  • Supporting new customer implementations, including stock sizing, installation planning and textile requirements.
  • Analysing customer ordering patterns, textile usage, losses and overconsumption to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Managing textile stock and storeroom flows, ensuring effective controls around quality, security and availability.
  • Driving improvements in textile reuse and reintegration, helping to extend garment life and reduce unnecessary purchasing.
  • Monitoring textile quality and identifying operational or process issues that could impact garment performance.
  • Supporting continuous improvement across wash, rewash and textile management processes.
  • Providing regular analysis and reporting to support effective business decisions.
  • Building a strong “textile culture” across the site, helping colleagues and customers understand the importance of effective textile management.
  • What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who can combine commercial thinking, operational understanding and strong analytical skills with the ability to influence people across the business.

  • You’ll Ideally Have
  • Experience working within a highly customer-focused operational or service environment.
  • An understanding of laundry production processes or a similar high-volume operational environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and turn information into meaningful actions.
  • Experience managing or contributing to budgets and financial reporting.
  • Previous experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • The confidence to challenge, negotiate and influence stakeholders.
  • The ability to work effectively across different departments and levels of an organisation.
  • Good IT skills and confidence working with operational and financial data.
  • A degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
