Role Description
This senior leadership role will spearhead ELIRE’s cruise-focused innovation efforts, bridging infrastructure, energy, and operational design into coherent, future-ready offerings for the cruise industry.
The VP will work across the group, engaging with cruise lines, port authorities, shipyards, governments, and developers to develop bespoke solutions that resolve the space, energy, and passenger flow constraints facing modern cruise operations.
The successful candidate will blend commercial awareness with technical understanding to shape projects from early positioning through to implementation — unlocking value through creative strategy, programme structuring, and industry alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the cruise strategy across ELIRE Group, coordinating with the CEO and venture leads to align projects with emerging market needs.
- Develop and implement integrated cruise infrastructure offerings, including floating terminals, energy hubs (such as cold ironing and hydrogen), integration of new emerging technologies, and flexible gangway technologies.
- Own relationships with cruise line operators, port developers, city stakeholders, and technology partners.
- Represent ELIRE in industry forums, events, and working groups to elevate our positioning within the cruise and port development ecosystem.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and energy teams to align cruise projects with technical feasibility, regulatory standards, and future-proof operational models.
- Drive business development, bid strategy, partnership structuring, and value proposition tailoring for key cruise clients and projects.
- Support our early-stage feasibility and investment cases, including location assessments, passenger flow modelling, and interface coordination.
- Shape internal R&D around cruise-specific innovation opportunities, including short-stay port solutions, remote embarkation, and dynamic berth capacity expansion.
- Assist technical reviews, design gate processes and sustainability benchmarking to ensure alignment with cruise line expectations and IMO/regulatory compliance.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to integrate circular materials, ESG reporting, and net-zero pathways into all cruise-related infrastructure offerings.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Senior professional with extensive experience in the cruise, port, or large-scale infrastructure sectors.
- Proven leadership of complex, cross-border infrastructure or transport programmes (including with public or private stakeholders).
- Commercially strategic, with experience in opportunity development, partnership models and client relationship management.
- Comfortable engaging with both technical teams and C-suite decision-makers across the cruise and maritime ecosystem.
- Understanding of relevant cruise, port, and maritime regulations, particularly around emissions, passenger safety, and design standards.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to operate across global teams and client geographies.
- Ambitious, pragmatic, and passionate about redefining cruise infrastructure for a low-carbon future.
