Payroll Specialist

Overview

Join to apply for the Payroll Specialist role at Elior. This fixed-term contract runs until September 2026 and involves payroll processing for approximately 10,000 colleagues.

Location: Macclesfield. Working pattern: Monday – Friday (Hybrid).

What you’ll do

• Process payroll accurately and on time, including salary payments, bonuses, deductions, and adjustments
• Maintain and update payroll records (starters, leavers, changes to employee details)
• Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and management
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (tax, National Insurance, pension contributions)
• Prepare payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end activities
• Liaise with payroll providers, pension administrators, and other third parties as necessary
• Support payroll audits and process improvements
• Maintain confidentiality and data security in line with GDPR and company policies

What you can bring

• Experience in payroll processing or payroll administration
• Knowledge of payroll legislation, tax, and pension regulations
• Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Sage, Workday) and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills for handling confidential information and employee queries
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Payroll qualification (e.g., CIPP) is desirable but not essential
