Job Overview

Elior’s Riverstone Living – Bishops Avenue is a luxury residential service for residents over 65. The 2nd Chef will lead the culinary team on site to deliver exceptional dining experiences for residents and guests.

Working Pattern

2 days out of 7 | 10:00 am‑8:00 pm | 20 hours per week. Eligible for performance‑based bonus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing catering team to deliver outstanding service to residents and clients.
  • Recruit, train, and support staff to maintain excellence and efficiency.
  • Manage stock, ordering, and cost control to ensure financial performance.
  • Maintain clear communication within the team, with management, and with clients to ensure operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, COSHH, health & safety, environmental, and legal regulations.
  • Champion a resident‑first culture, ensuring every interaction reflects warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Maintain consistently high service standards aligned with brand and hospitality expectations.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership skills with a proactive, hands‑on approach.
  • Strong focus on frontline operations and resident satisfaction.
  • Passion for service excellence and people.
  • A strong customer service ethos with a genuine passion for creating memorable experiences.
  • Catering experience with strong chef skills.
  • 2+ years’ experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef ready for the next step.
