Are you a detail-oriented payroll professional looking for your next challenge? At Elior, we’re seeking a proactive and meticulous Payroll Specialist to join our friendly and supportive team in Macclesfield.

You\’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for approximately 10,000 colleagues across our organisation.

In this role, you\’ll help with various tasks like uploading timesheets, processing SSP, SMP, SPPB, and third-party payments, generating BACS files, handling expenses, and integrating labour costs into the accounts system. You\’ll also deal with HMRC queries, auto-enrolment pensions, and term-time pay calculations.

This is a fixed-term contract until November 2026

What you’ll be doing…

As a Payroll Specialist, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end processing of weekly and monthly payrolls, ensuring accuracy and compliance at every stage. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Processing assigned payrolls to strict deadlines
  • Uploading timesheets and managing statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPPB)
  • Handling third-party payments and generating BACS files
  • Managing auto-enrolment pensions (Nest/Aviva), including submissions and opt-outs
  • Administering post requests and hierarchy changes within internal systems
  • Responding to payroll queries via email and telephone
  • Liaising with HMRC and handling related queries
  • Supporting the integration of labour costs into the accounts system
  • Assisting colleagues in using the online portal system (training provided)
  • Collaborating closely with the payroll team to maintain shared inboxes and ensure a best-in-class service

You will also be expected to contribute to the success of the wider team, sharing knowledge, supporting others, and ensuring high standards are consistently met.

Working hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm
