We are seeking a driven and personable Chef Manager to lead catering operations within an Extra Care environment. This role is based across Newcastle in a combination of Extra Care Schemes and community café settings, delivering high-quality food and service to residents, visitors, and stakeholders. Working under a single client structure with aligned menus and operational standards across similar sites, you will play a key role in ensuring consistency, quality, and a strong customer experience. This is an ideal opportunity for a self-motivated, organised individual who thrives in a lone-working environment and takes pride in delivering both culinary excellence and operational control.

What you’ll be doing...

  • Culinary & Service Delivery
    • Plan, prepare, and deliver nutritious, high-quality meals in line with agreed menus and standards
    • Ensure all food is presented to a high standard, meeting dietary and nutritional requirements
    • Maintain food safety, hygiene, and compliance with all relevant legislation
  • Operational Management
    • Manage the day-to-day running of the kitchen independently
    • Demonstrate strong organisation and time management skills while working autonomously
    • Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, stock rotation, and kitchen procedures
    • Complete regular stock takes and manage ordering efficiently
    • Be accountable for site finances, including daily and weekly cash reporting, managing cash transactions accurately, cost control, and waste management
  • Build strong, positive relationships with residents, visitors, and the client
  • Deliver a warm, engaging, and personable service, creating a welcoming dining experience
  • Act as an ambassador for the service, recognising that personality and relationship-building are key to success in this role

What can you bring?

  • Previous experience as a Chef Manager or in a similar leadership catering role
  • Experience within care, contract catering, or hospitality environments (desirable)
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently
  • Confidence in managing finances, stock, and reporting
