Security Systems Design Engineer – Physical Electronic Security Only

London or Bath (or surrounding areas) | Up to £60,000 + Hybrid Working

Not a cybersecurity role.

We’re looking for a Design Engineer with hands-on experience in electronic physical security systems – CCTV, Access Control, and Intrusion Detection — not fire, not IT security, and not cyber threat monitoring.

Join a Global Design Powerhouse:

We’re hiring on behalf of a world-renowned, multidisciplinary consultancy shaping complex, high-performance buildings across the UK and beyond. From government sites and airports to stadiums, cultural landmarks, and smart commercial spaces — you’ll help deliver secure, integrated environments that set new standards.

Your Role:

You’ll be part of a specialist team designing physical security systems for some of the most high-profile projects in the world. That includes:

  • CCTV Surveillance
  • Access Control Systems
  • Intruder Detection
  • Security Intercom and Communications Systems

Your work will go far beyond device layouts – this is holistic, risk-based system design fully embedded in the architectural and MEP vision of the building.

You’ll Need:

  • Proven experience designing electronic physical security systems (not just installing or servicing them).
  • Background in either a consultancy or a security integrator delivering system designs for the built environment.
  • Strong understanding of system schematics, specs, and technical integration across disciplines.
  • Confident with design tools like AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks .
  • Clear communicator with the ability to explain designs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (or already hold it).

Why This Role?

  • Up to £60,000 + top-tier benefits
  • Hybrid working from London or Bath (or nearby)
  • Work on high-impact, international projects
  • Excellent CPD support and growth opportunities
  • Work alongside fire, IT, and MEP specialists in a true multi-discipline design team
  • Chance to contribute to R&D and innovation in secure building design
