About the opportunity
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll play a key role in the design and delivery of complex Data Centre projects from concept through to construction. Working alongside experienced Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health engineers, you'll contribute to innovative engineering solutions that prioritise resilience, energy efficiency, sustainability and operational performance. These are projects where every decision matters. From cooling strategies and chilled water systems to ventilation, pipework design and plant selection, you'll help create facilities that operate around the clock for some of the world's most demanding clients.
What you'll be doing:
- Producing detailed mechanical building services designs for Data Centre developments.
- Supporting the delivery of projects through RIBA design stages.
- Undertaking heating and cooling load calculations.
- Designing chilled water, condenser water, HVAC and ventilation systems.
- Preparing technical reports, calculations and specifications.
- Developing coordinated designs using Revit and BIM workflows.
- Collaborating with Electrical, Structural and Civil Engineering teams.
- Participating in client meetings and technical design reviews.
- Supporting project delivery from feasibility through to construction.
- Ensuring designs comply with current regulations and industry standards.

Essential Requirement: Previous Data Centre or Mission Critical Building Services Design Consultancy experience is essential. Due to the specialist nature of these opportunities, we're specifically looking for engineers who have worked on Data Centres, Mission Critical facilities or similarly complex critical infrastructure projects. Unfortunately, applications without relevant Data Centre design experience cannot be considered for these particular vacancies.
