We are currently working with a leading engineering consultancy to appoint a Principal or Associate Electrical Engineer to join their expanding Mission Critical & Data Centre team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical engineering professional to take a leading role on high-profile, technically complex projects across the UK and Europe within the rapidly growing data centre and critical infrastructure sector. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and highly respected engineering environment, working alongside multidisciplinary specialists to deliver innovative and resilient design solutions for mission critical facilities.

The Role

You will play a key role in the technical delivery and leadership of electrical design services across a range of mission critical projects. This position offers a strong mix of technical responsibility, client interaction, project leadership, and team mentoring.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the delivery of electrical design packages for data centre and mission critical projects
  • Developing strategic and technically robust design concepts in line with client requirements and regulatory standards
  • Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact throughout project delivery
  • Attending and leading project and design coordination meetings
  • Producing and reviewing technical reports, specifications, and project documentation
  • Coordinating closely with internal multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and external stakeholders
  • Supporting resource planning and fee management alongside senior leadership
  • Mentoring and developing junior engineers, graduates, and apprentices

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Electrical Engineering within a consultancy or design-led environment
  • Strong background delivering Mission Critical and/or Data Centre projects
  • Proficiency with industry-standard tools including Revit, BIM, Electrical OM, Dialux, and Relux
  • Experience working directly with clients, contractors, and architects
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage technical delivery while fostering a collaborative team environment
