Are you an experienced Data Centre Engineer with strong electrical and mechanical skills? We’re offering an exciting opportunity to join our high‑performing team in Hemel Hempstead, supporting mission‑critical infrastructure in a fast‑paced, 24/7 environment.

The Role

As a Data Centre Technical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in maintaining, inspecting and commissioning high‑availability systems that keep our operations running seamlessly. Working on a continental shift pattern, you’ll take responsibility for electrical and mechanical installations, emergency power systems, UPS, cooling, HVAC and more. You’ll ensure all systems operate to the highest standards while supporting customer projects and managing contractors on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection, maintenance, commissioning and servicing of data centre systems
  • Manage electrical and mechanical installations, UPS, diesel generators and cooling systems
  • Respond to customer requests, resolving or escalating queries as needed
  • Supervise contractors delivering infrastructure upgrades and replacements
  • Prepare SOPs/MOPs/EOPs and maintain accurate records
  • Participate in emergency response and first aid procedures

What We’re Looking For

  • MBO degree (or equivalent) in a technical discipline – ideally electrical or mechanical
  • Previous experience in a data centre or critical facilities environment
  • Strong knowledge of UPS, generators, cooling and building infrastructure systems
  • Computer literate with knowledge of network systems and asset management tools
  • A proactive, reliable team player with flexibility to work a 24/7 shift pattern
